Croc’s cell is surprisingly small, but has a pool of noxious green sewage full of skeletons and etchings across the walls that read, “All Hail King Croc.” Pyg’s cell is the same size, but flooded in a certain light from what appears to be blood on its fluorescent light tubes, with a piece of morbid poetry on the floor before a mural. Likewise, Gotham Knights’ Arkham features two fun nods to horrific Batman villains in Jane Doe, Killer Croc, and Professor Pyg. Moreover, the series delivers a fluid, smooth, and brutal combat gameplay system. It cemented the open-world, action-adventure formula, follow-up games like Marvel’s Spider-Man use. Most people would consider it as a hiatus for the superhero genre. As you explore Gotham, in both walled prison and regular city form, the voices of goons on the street are a ceaseless. Batman: Arkham Asylum is the first game in the series. The latter two games in Rocksteady's trio of Batman adventures are some of the most relentlessly chatty video games ever made.
